If you take the MRT (subway), you can get off at two stations: Chatuchak Park, then you get from the north side and can make a little break in advance in the park, or you drive to Kamphaeng Phet and then walk from the southern side to the market.
The Chatuchak weekend market is closed on Mondays & Tuesdays. Not all shops are open on Wednesdays & Thursdays, most of the owners open their shops, stalls and shops usually on weekends, starting Friday evening at 6:00pm and then open until midnight. Saturday & Sunday the market is open from 9:00am to 6:00pm.
